Around Crakehall Village
Crakehall is one of the prettiest villages in the Yorkshire Dales. The village green, just five minutes walk from Crakehall Watermill, is overlooked by the imposing Hall, St Gregory’s Church and the Bay Horse pub. The village cricket and quoits teams often play on The Green in this beautiful setting during the summer. Crakehall comprises Great Crakehall, on the Bedale side of the beck and Little Crakehall, where Crakehall Watermill is, on the Leyburn side of the beck. There is friendly rivalry between the two – particularly when there is a Tug of War competition on special days!
